About Kidshield Europe
Kidshield Europe began in January 2007 with the
aim of providing information to protect children online.
Our
ongoing research and the feedback we receive from parents worldwide
shows that there is a distinct lack of knowledge about what we can
do to protect our kids online, and we aim to change that.
Our
focus for 2008 is to dramatically increase the amount of children
who surf the internet with parental filter controls. You wouldn't
dream of allowing your kids out to a park in the middle of the
night, but that is exactly what parents are doing by allowing their
children unfiltered access to the world wide web.
""Because they are upstairs and they're quiet doesn't mean they're
safe. They're no more safe upstairs on the Internet than they are
out in the park at 2 O'Clock in the morning"

Our
team consistently strive to provide you with the latest news stories
and statistical data to ensure that all responsible adults concerned
with child safety online can continue to protect their children
online.
Kidshield Europe is run by volunteers who believe that making a
difference starts with educating our children from a young age about
potential dangers online - we do the same thing for the fire drill,
so why not internet safety?
"The Internet is still in it's
infancy and what we've seen is an explosion of communication brought
about by the ability to share information. Paedophiles use this
technology to make direct contact with children, with each other,
and to share information and images in a way that could not have
been anticipated.
Many parent are in denial about
the real dangers their children face with online from risky sexual
chat through to social networking and online chat rooms, to a direct
approach from an online predator - we aim to change that through
education and point of entry protection"
